  This Mexican restaurant is my family's favorite and had been for many years. Every time it if town guests come to visit, this is where we bring them - Carmelita's! And when they return, they always ask to come back.
  And what makes each visit even better is our favorite server EMMA! She has never disappointed us. She is always pleasant and accommodating.
  
  If you want true Mexican delicious food, I can truly say that you will be very pleased when dining at Carmelita's!

  I've been here a few times and it's always been ok. The service has always been a little odd. Last night we went with a large group of 9. The amount of time in between the water, drink order, menu order, food delivery was timed out way too long. Two in our group never got their meal. When the food was delivered, the waiter never asked - "are we all good, do you need anything else?" - nope, walked away and never came back until we were nearly done and bill ready. When we asked him about it, he referred to the guy that had delivered the food with him and said "did he say he would be back", nope-- "oh well that food comes out of a different window and it's probably still sitting up there." Well unfortunately, by that time, it did not do us any good and the food was most likely wasted. It's frustrating because even if he would have checked in 5-10 minutes after the food was delivered, he would have been able to catch it, but he didn't.
  
  The worst part was that 18% gratuity was already included because we were a group.  Frustrating.  
  
  I will say the salsa is delicious here, no to hot and with just enough flavor. Drinks are also delicious. Unfortunately, the service and food has never been spectacular. There are a lot of better Mexican places in Dunedin/Clearwater that won't disappoint.
  If your looking for drinks and apps... come here otherwise go somewhere else.

  A great place for great Mexican food. They give complimentary chips and salsa while you wait. I love their all you can eat Taco Tuesday. My 10 year old daughter spent her birthday dinner here and we all had a blast. They gave her a free birthday icecream  which she ate in front of all the rest of the kids lol  it's ok because it's her birthday  
  The food is always so delicious. Their margaritas are F'n great  and the service is great. I especially love the lady who pronounces all the Latin servers names so incorrect lol but that's ok Linda- you keep trying.

  LOVE this place!!!!!!!!  LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This is one our favorite places.  There are several locations but my favorite one is the Dunedin location. Some of my Fav dishes are the street tacos, chimichanga, taco salad, and enchiladas. The salsa is delicious and queso is a must.  The fresh squeezed margarita is amazing!  You'll want more!

  We really wanted to love this place since it's near our new home but it was not good at all. Everything needed salt, nothing had flavor. My husband got the carnitas tacos which he said were bland and the carnitas were not great(he's a huge carnitas fan). I had the kitchen special which was awful, dry chicken which tasted like they just threw in a can of crushed tomatoes with mushy rice and veggies. The only redeeming thing on the plate was the little. bowl of beans which was good. I gave 3 stars versus 2 because our server was very nice and the other employees who work there seemed great as well. We will not be going back.
